Which battery fits your AEG tools?
AEG has been a trusted name in power tools for decades. The older 2.4V models, often referred to as B2.4 or L244, were widely used in compact drills and screwdrivers. Despite their age, many of these devices are still perfectly usable – provided they are equipped with a properly functioning battery.
Our replacement 2.4V NiMH batteries are specifically designed for these older AEG machines. They are compatible with models such as the BBM 2.4T, BS 2.4T and other tools from the L244 or 4932 series. The batteries are CE certified, equipped with thermal and overload protection and provide a reliable power supply for light to medium-duty tasks.
Compared to the original NiCd batteries, our NiMH versions are more environmentally friendly, have less memory effect and a longer service life. The voltage of 2.4V ensures controlled power - ideal for precision work or light screwdriving in confined spaces.
Battery chargers and capacity: what suits your working method?
For this generation of AEG tools, a simple slow charger was usually included. Our replacement chargers are compatible with 2.4V NiMH batteries and offer a stable charging process with automatic switch-off. This prevents overcharging and significantly extends the life of the battery.
Although the capacity is usually limited to approx. 1.2Ah to 2.0Ah, our models offer stable voltage and reliable charging behaviour. Ideal for occasional use, light assembly work or precision mechanical work.
Frequently asked questions about AEG batteries
Are replacement batteries safe for my AEG 2.4V machine?
Yes, all our 2.4V batteries are CE certified and tested for compatibility with older AEG machines such as the BS 2.4T and BBM 2.4T.
Can I replace a 2.4V battery with a 3.6V variant?
This is usually not advisable. The electronics and motors of these machines are specifically tuned to 2.4V. Always use the original voltage.
Are NiMH batteries better than original NiCd batteries?
Yes. NiMH batteries are more environmentally friendly, have less memory effect and are often lighter. They are suitable as a sustainable replacement for older NiCd batteries.
