Which cars is a mobile home charger suitable for?

Mobile chargers are suitable for almost all electric cars with a Type 2 connection. Depending on the version, you charge with:

• 1-phase 16A: 3.7 kW – suitable for example for a Nissan Leaf or Kia Niro EV
• 1-phase 32A: 7.4 kW – for models such as the Hyundai Kona or Tesla Model 3
• 3-phase 16A: 11 kW – for vehicles such as the Volkswagen ID.4 or Skoda Enyaq
• 3-phase 32A: 22 kW – for faster charging options in vehicles with powerful on-board chargers such as the Renault Zoe

Charging speed, connection and plug type explained

Mobile chargers are supplied as standard with a Type 2 plug (Mennekes), the European standard. They work via mode 2 or mode 3 charging, depending on the model. The charger regulates the power supply itself and protects against overheating, overvoltage and earth leakage problems. Do you only have a schuko socket at home? Then you choose a 1-phase charger. Do you have a red power connection (CEE)? Then you can charge faster with a 3-phase model up to 22 kW.
