The Victron GX can be used on 1 phase or 3 phases and can therefore supply a maximum of 22kW if the connection is suitable for this. Why a 22kW and not an 11kW charging station?

You buy a charging station for many years. The charging speeds of electric cars are still increasing rapidly. 11kW is now the standard, but it is very likely that it will become 22kW. Charging at this speed will be interesting if the Netherlands gets flexible energy rates in the future. Charging as quickly as possible when the electricity is cheap or even paid for, is then super interesting. By buying a 22kW charger now, you prevent an unnecessary double investment at a later time. If you have a car with a 1-phase 32A connection, you will have immediate results. Your solar panels ensure that you can charge faster than the standard 1-phase 16A! We therefore recommend investing in a 22kW charging station with load balancing. In this way, you also contribute to a Netherlands that is as green as possible!

Make optimal use of your solar panels with the Victron EV charging station

With the Victron back office it becomes even easier to optimally use the energy from the solar panels. If you set the system to automatic, all excess energy is sent directly to the charging station. The mains voltage is then used to charge the electric car.

If you prefer to choose yourself, set the system to manual and choose a voltage between 6 and 32 amps. In this mode, the electric car is always charged at the chosen speed. If the solar panels do not provide enough energy for this, the system will choose to charge with mains voltage. This way you can be sure that the car battery is always fully charged at the desired time, but it may mean that you are not charging completely sustainably (depending on your chosen energy contract of course).

Combine with the Victron GX or Victron VRM

If you want to use the Victron EV charging station optimally, then you choose the portal monitoring of Victron GX or Victron VRM. When these are linked, the charging station uses the available amount of power to optimally charge the electric car, or to the home battery of course, since this is a completely smart system. The software for monitoring can be found for free in the Victron backoffice, so that you can use it immediately.
