Why a 22kW and not an 11kW charging station?

You buy a charging station for many years. The maximum charging capacity of electric cars is still increasing rapidly. 11 kW is now the standard, but it is very likely that it will become 22 kW, which is already possible for many models. Charging at this speed will be interesting if the Netherlands gets flexible energy rates in the future. Charging as quickly as possible at the moment that the electricity is cheap or even paid for, is then super interesting.

If you buy a 22 kW charger now, you won't have to invest again in a few years to be able to charge optimally. We therefore recommend investing in a 22 kW charging station with load balancing. With this you charge (now or in the future) considerably faster and you also contribute to a Netherlands that is as green as possible!

The versatility of the Wallbox Pulsar Plus

Optimal charging starts with a charging station that can deliver what you need. That is no problem for the Pulsar Plus from Wallbox, especially because the charging speed can be set from 6 to 32 amperes, so you can always find the best option for your network. Do you have solar panels? Then you can use the function called Eco Smart. With this, the electric car is charged exclusively on the generated power. Mains voltage is then not used. The charging station starts charging immediately when there is at least 6A available from the solar panels. A power meter is required for this mode, which you can order directly from us.

You can also choose Eco Mode. In this mode, the charging station uses as much green energy as possible, but will supplement this with mains voltage to charge the car battery as quickly as possible.

Another big advantage is that the charging station is always connected, which means that you have insight into the charging speed, charging history, the costs of charging at any time and it is even possible to lock and unlock the Wallbox charging stations in the myWallbox portal. You can always open this via a computer, laptop or mobile phone. This portal also makes it possible to print out complete reports and overviews, so that you can keep a close eye on everything.

In myWallbox you can also plan charging sessions. Practical if you want to start charging at night, for example, so that you can charge at the full 32A without disturbing anyone - or if you want to be able to charge optimally when the electricity price is the lowest.

Charging station with fixed 5 meter charging cable

The Wallbox Pulsar Plus is equipped with a fixed 5-meter charging cable. This means that you never have to search for the charging cable before you can charge, because it is simply attached to the charging station. Grab the plug, plug Ôm into your car and you can start charging immediately.

Advantage set: Load balancing or Power Share

If you want to connect different models of the Pulsar Plus to the network, you can enable the Power Sharing function. This ensures that the available voltage is distributed over the connected, active charging stations. This is not the same as load balancing, because with dynamic charging (i.e. mdet load balancing) the charging station takes into account the voltage that is required for the rest of the network.

If you need load balancing, choose the Power Boost feature, which also allows the Wallbox Pulsar Plus to charge dynamically.

If the Power Boost is active, the charging station will consult to see how much voltage is available. Is the charging station connected to a 32A connection, but is the network busy because many machines and devices are switched on? Then the charging station will not use the full 32A, but will reduce the charging speed. When the smart energy meter indicates that more voltage is available, the charging station will open all charging options to charge as quickly as possible.

In concrete terms, this means that with load balancing you will never experience any hindrance from charging the electric car. With the Wallbox Pulsar Plus, you will need Power Boost for this, which you can order directly when you choose this model.

Which cars can I charge with the Wallbox Pulsar Plus?

The charging station is equipped with a fixed charging cable with a type 2 (Mennekes) connection for the car side. This means that all cars with a type 2 connection can be charged with this charging station. Since the charging station can charge from 6A to 3x32A (22 kW), the charging station is also able to optimally charge most cars (read: in the shortest possible time).

Since this charging station is equipped with integrated DC leakage current protection, no extension in the meter cupboard is required for an earth leakage circuit breaker B.
